About John

John Polo is a keynote speaker, author and international coach.

In January of 2016, John became a widower after his amazing wife, Michelle, died of cancer.

Michelle was 30 at the time of her passing.

& John was 31.

From the rubble of everything that he once knew, consumed by desperation and despair, John held on long enough until he found his hope. And he slowly rebuilt.

Today John helps others through his social media, books, keynotes, workshops and podcasts.

John’s deepest passions are kindness, inner-dialogue, self-esteem, self-worth, self-sabotage, grief & women empowerment.

He is the author of four books, host of two podcasts and has worked with clients on more than 5,000 coaching sessions. He has been featured on People.com, NBC, The Huffington Post, Yahoo, Fox and more.

Despite suffering from some life-long social anxiety, John’s favorite aspect of his career is public speaking.

“I used to feel like I was growing to throw up before a speech lol, now I still get a little nervous - but more than anything I just want the mic because I know my work can change lives.”

In his free time John enjoys spending time with his fiancée Ali and their crazy dog Archie.

Perhaps John’s greatest joy is watching his step-daughter, Emma, continue to grow into the amazing person that she is.

The two have been bonded since they first met in 2011.

John also enjoys sitting in the sun, kicking MS’s ass and making people (mostly himself) laugh.

He called Chicago home for his first 39 years, but has since relocated to sunny San Diego.

“I have been broken so many times in my life, and yet here I am even after thinking that I could never go on. It is possible to rebuild. Yourself, and your life. My goal is to help people through their pain and struggles, so that they can create - and enjoy - a better tomorrow.”
